Barring an Armageddon, if we play our cards right, and with good luck, we each will reach ripe old age. There is no escaping that eventuality. An elderly woman walked by me one afternoon doing a double take, and emitting a vocal, “Whoa!” She extended her hands toward me, like flat paddles with space in between. She asked me to pass a flattened hand between hers. I obeyed. “Do you feel it?” she asked. “Do it again.” I did it again and answered, yes, I do feel something.
It was like passing the pole of a magnet by another like magnetic pole. There was an energy present. The old woman told me she felt a strong energy when she passed by me. Holding my hands, she looked up into my eyes and told me that I was going to live a long life, and that I had better take measures to ensure that it would be a long, healthy life. What a tragedy to be blessed with longevity and live every day in misery because of a sick body.
Youth, itself, has a knack for disregarding healthy living in favor of living la vita loca with wild, reckless abandon. With age, eventually comes wisdom. Each of us can only hope that by the time it does come, we haven’t completely wrecked ourselves before entering our golden years. Glaucoma, arthritis, diabetes, hearing loss, dementia, to name a few, don’t need our help. Staying healthy, young in mind and spirit, do!
